here’s an idea i had for a bleeding tooth fungus spirit! i’m trying to figure out how humanoid i want my spirits to be and i decided to start with my favorite fungus because yes, you should have a favorite fungus. Hydnellum peckii (or bleeding tooth, as i know them) would be really shy, and when they were embarrassed their heads would get all blotchy red like this. they probably wouldn’t be able to talk, but they could gurgle and coo, or screech in really high pitches when in danger. they would communicate mostly nonverbally, and make wild gestures with their tiny hands if they weren’t getting their point across. the one i’ve drawn here is probably getting old, seeing as it’s browner than most.
